Grammar and vocabulary: Present simple and continuous, action and non-action verbs, vocabulary to talk about food and cooking.
Skills focus: Pronunciation – short and long vowel sounds. Listening – matching, listening for information, predicting, note-taking. Speaking – asking and answering questions, asking for more information, agreeing and disagreeing, justifying opinions. Reading – reading for gist, reading for information.

Topic: Family, personality.
Grammar and vocabulary: Future forms (present continuous, be going to, will/won’t), family, adjectives of personality.
Skills focus: Reading – gap fill, gapped text. Speaking – asking and answering questions in groups, politely refusing to talk about something, making predictions, retelling stories from another person’s point of view. Pronunciation – sentence stress, word stress. Listening – predicting, listening for information. Writing – a short poem, an email describing a friend.
